Many of us are frustrated that we cannot see what we want to see. We become so frustrated in ourselves and our situations that seem to limit our vision. That frustration becomes an anchor for potential "self-movement" in order to see things differently. The greatest frustration is in how we see ourselves. We hyper focus on a picture of ourselves and define it accordingly. "I am worthless.", "I am a sinner.", "I am not worthy.", "I hate myself.", "I am ugly.", "I am a victim.", and so on. Sitting in one place just staring intently until we see every little flaw in ourselves. Then of course due to the fact this becomes habitual, we do it with others. We see ourselves and others and experiences through a "one-perspective" vision, mindset.
Does this "one-perspective" mean that what we are looking at or experiencing equates to a singular truth, or as an Ultimate Reality? If we only are looking at the view from the first floor in a 10 story building, does that mean that is the only view? Common sense would state, no, it is not the only view. But why then do we live our lives this way, digging our heels into the earth and not willing to "look around" staring out at the one view on the first floor of the building.
Yes, this is a habit...and one that can be dismissed and set aside. Yes, you can train your mind to start seeing a new perspective.
But how?
Lets use the analogy of the building views.
First you have to accept the reality that whatever you are looking for, seeking or wanting to see can possibly be somewhere else than where you are looking. It is important that you accept this reality. Accept the possibility that on each floor of the building there are innumerable views. Yes, there are more than just 4. (North, South, East, West). There are views without count. Ask yourself, Why am I only looking here? And is this "view" this perspective working for me in bringing me peace, joy, happiness, etc.? Chances are it is not just because of your ignorance. The lack of understanding that there is more.
Second, you need to be willing to use a few muscles that have entropy...
1. Open your eyes (Wake up)
2. Turn your neck (Be open)
3. Use your legs and feet (Be willing to move around)
Everything is in a state of change, it is either expanding or decaying. One cannot be immobile on any level.
Third, SHUT UP! Shut your mouth and allow your mind, eyes and other senses to help you see these new views. Just have the willingness to move around and look. Do not talk unless it is to ask questions of yourself and in understanding the new views you are beholding. As a side note, changing perspective does not mean the automatic acceptance of that new perspective. Don't ask if it is right or wrong, rather ask, "Does this work for me and others?".
Now something is going to happen as your mind expands and you start to "see" more, you will see stairs. The stairs are what takes you to a new floor of the building to see the same views at a higher, more transcendent perspective. Now on the first floor out the eastern windows you may see a few people, cars, other buildings, but it is extremely limited. Once you reach the 2nd floor you can take in more, see more. The same view that was on the first floor is now a new view on the 2nd. You have transcended old perspectives. You begin to feel better, vibrate faster...experience more. Well, of course, as your looking at all views on the 2nd floor you will eventually run across another staircase inviting you upwards. And even though it may seem scary, do not stop, keep going. You will never regret going up.
Now you are on the 3rd floor, same views but with a new, transcendent position. You are retraining your brain and making this walking around, turning your neck and opening your eyes a new habit. You are starting to find more things, experiences, and people that work for you and you have learned to dismiss those that do not. But do not stop here....you will naturally find the new staircase that takes you higher. By now you will be one fire. You will be gaining a new sense of self-confidence, self-esteem and self-love. It will propel you upwards. Also you will be noticing that the views get better and better, so it would only mean that the higher you go, the better they become.
Eventually you will make it to the top of the building...taking in a 360 degree view, seeing over things, and seeing far and wide. Feeling a sense of invigoration, awe and appreciation for what you have been through to get here and what you now see. Knowing where you began and the limited views you had and now the expansive views you now behold. Everything in life is perspective. Wouldn't that make it paramount to learn how to use it properly to find and attract what you want? Perspective is knowledge which leads to understanding which leads to faith which leads to health (health in all areas of ones life, emotional, mental, financial, spiritual, and physical) which leads to healing. Everyone is suffering to some degree or another. It starts with ignorance, which leads to doubt and worry which leads to fear which leads to suffering or dis-ease. Want to heal that suffering?
Change your perspective.

"There is, then, no limitation outside our own ignorance, and since we can all conceive of a greater good than we have so far experienced, we all have the ability to transcend previous thoughts about them; but we shall never triumph over them while we persist in going through the old mental reactions."
-Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind
Next post I will talk about ways to change your perspective....
