Defining who we are in regards to our other half...
Einstein's discovery of the law of relativity not only was paramount in science but has great significance to our personal and spiritual lives. Who are we in relation to....whatever? How do we define ourselves in regards to our mother, father, children, friends, work, self and our other half? As a part of my life coaching I will help you learn to define yourself in regards to your relationships and especially yourself.
A short little exercise to help with understanding the importance and power of this definition of oneself picture in your mind that you are in a white room, pure white. So white that you can not make out the corners of the walls it is so bright. At first you will find peace, tranquility...but after a long while you would get annoyed, bothered, bored.
Then on a wall appears a little black dot...
This is huge! Why though? Why is this black dot so significant? Because now you have purpose, you can now define yourself in regards to this dot. I am big, it is small. It is flat, I am density. It is black, I am _____ (fill in color here). And so on. A huge vocabulary starts to form in your head. Words that had no meaning until that dot appeared. Then a small table appears in the corner of the room. It is hard, I am soft. It is immobile, I am mobile. It is short, I am tall and so on. Now someone you love appears in front of you. How are you going to define yourself in regards to this person, caring, kind, forgiving, needy, jealous, controlling, non judgmental, open-minded, loving? Please note that I didn't say how this person is going to define you, the power in the law of relativity is YOU are defining yourself, no one else.
Defining oneself reaches into every facet of ones life. Not only do you define yourself in regards to things and people you define yourself in regards to others actions. If this person does this, how will I define myself? If she cheats on me, how will I define myself in regards to that action, be jealous, needy, controlling, spiteful, angry, unforgiving, or understanding, caring, forgiving and having unconditional love? Once you start to etch these definitions in you, at a deeper level then just being tossed back and forth in the ocean of reality, you no longer are compelled to do the right thing or make better choices....you naturally do the right thing and make better choices. You become pure reason and pure observation with the desire to know and be greater than your ignorant predictions on people's predictability. The more you define yourself, the more you know of yourself and others the greater one understands everyone, the more love and compassion you will have and will naturally revert to.
You will not need love or want love...you will "be love".
